St Andrew's Church

'Model' 19th Century stone and timber cottages line the main road, which here runs along a sandstone ridge parallel to the river seven. Lovely rolling country and distant views are to found all along this highway (The A442 from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster). The village is old - its very name sounds ancient - though much of it has been rebuilt. The Church of St Andrew was also much rebuilt in 1763 but the chancel, north chancel chapel and the north arcade are all medieval. Inside, there is a monument to Mary Wolryche (d.1678), holding a lute, and a Jacobean pulpit and readers desk.
